Arizona’s capacity development strategy for public water systems has been in place for nearly two decades. The strategy is intended to ensure public water systems have adequate technical, managerial and financial capacity to provide healthy drinking water to their customers. Capacity development activities include helping with compliance-related issues, providing technical assistance, developing asset management tools, revising budgets and finances, certifying operators, and providing training for operators, owners and managers.

ADEQ is in the process of revising its current capacity development strategy and would like your input | View/Download Capacity Development Strategy >

We anticipate holding a series of virtual sessions over the next six months to hear from water systems about what encourages or impairs their ability to stay in compliance with state and federal requirements. Once we understand these factors, we will develop strategies to address them.
