Rupesh Patel
Air Program Manager for
Pima County Department of Environmental Quality
Rupesh received his graduate degree in Civil Engineering with Management from the University of Sunderland, England in 1997. Upon graduation, he worked for Parsons Brinkerhoff Ltd. undertaking Phase I and II ground investigations, earthworks and construction quality assessments. In 2001, he began work as an Environmental Engineer for Vinci Construction, overseeing a $60million road design and build contract implementing and maintaining an environmental management plan. In 2003, Rupesh emigrated to the United States and shortly thereafter joined Pima County Department of Environmental Quality as a permit engineer. In 2018, Rupesh was appointed as the departments Air Program manager primary responsible for overseeing the departments permitting of sources of air pollution, compliance/enforcement of State and Federal air pollution laws, maintaining an ambient air monitoring network and the development of Pima Counties State Implementation Plans and Rules.
This presentation discusses what’s going on with our air quality. Are we in compliance with regulations? Did the shut down help our air quality? What about the Bighorn fire? Rupesh will discuss this and other relevant information about our air quality.
